The Toronto Raptors have reached a deal with undrafted rookie free agent Nimari Burnett on an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Hoops Rumors.
Burnett, 24, began his college career at Texas Tech during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season. After transferring to Alabama, he missed the entire 2021-22 campaign while recovering from right-knee surgery. He returned to the floor for one season with the Crimson Tide before moving to Michigan, where he played his final three collegiate seasons.
A full-time starter on a Wolverines squad that won 37 games and captured the 2026 national championship, the 6-5 guard averaged 8.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19.8 minutes per game last season, shooting 45.3 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the free-throw line.
An Exhibit 10 agreement is a non-guaranteed training-camp deal that can be converted to a two-way contract before the regular season. If Burnett is waived and then spends at least 60 days with the Raptors’ G League affiliate, Raptors 905, he could earn a bonus of up to a projected $91,000.
Whether on a two-way or Exhibit 10 path, Burnett is expected to spend significant time with Raptors 905 during his rookie year.
