Restricted free agent center Mark Williams is set to stay in Phoenix on a three-year, $38 million contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Williams, 24, arrived at the Suns in a 2025 draft-night swap after a February 2025 trade that would have sent him from Charlotte to the Lakers was voided over medical concerns. Last season he appeared in a career-best 60 games, averaging 11.7 points and 8.0 rebounds across 23.6 minutes.
Cap analyst Yossi Gozlan (The Third Apron) projects Williams’ first-year salary at roughly $11.7 million, which would leave Phoenix about $4.3 million beneath the second-apron hard cap and $16.4 million above the luxury-tax threshold with 15 players under contract. The Suns could still clear space by cutting non-guaranteed deals.
The new pact is fully guaranteed with no team or player options, reports Jake Fischer of The Stein Line. Phoenix initially targeted a two-year term but agreed to a third season after settling on the annual salary, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 adds.
Retaining Williams follows the Suns’ earlier moves to re-sign guards Jordan Goodwin and Collin Gillespie and to draft Koa Peat at No. 30, rounding out much of the club’s offseason roster work.
