The Golden State Warriors ended a nine-game road skid against the Los Angeles Clippers on April 15, defeating their Pacific Division rival 126-121 in an NBA Play-In Tournament matchup at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

Stephen Curry led all scorers with 35 points and delivered the performance in the Fade to Black Snakeskin Nike Kobe 4 Protro, a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant. The two-time MVP, who has rotated among several brands since severing his long-time partnership with Under Armour during the 2025-26 season, has now worn the Kobe 4 Protro in back-to-back contests.

Curry first laced up the black suede, gold-accented sneakers with snakeskin detailing on Sunday, when Golden State closed the regular season with a 115-110 loss to the Clippers at the same venue. That defeat marked the Warriors’ ninth consecutive loss in Los Angeles—whether at Staples Center, Crypto.com Arena or Intuit Dome—before Wednesday’s breakthrough.

In the Play-In, Curry shook off a quiet opening half to pour in 27 points after intermission. His seventh three-pointer knotted the score with 50.4 seconds remaining, capping the Warriors’ rally from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit. The 37-year-old finished 12-for-24 from the field and 7-for-15 beyond the arc.

The Fade to Black Snakeskin Kobe 4 Protro, originally released on November 2, 2019, is one of several Bryant models Curry has showcased this season. He drew attention earlier in the campaign when he warmed up in the Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” shortly after news of his split from Under Armour became public. Despite that display, his first game as a sneaker free agent was played in a Curry 12 “Eat Learn Play” player exclusive.

Golden State’s victory keeps its season alive. The Warriors head to Mortgage Matchup Center on Friday to face the Phoenix Suns, with the winner securing the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
