The NBA on May 24, 2026 announced its 2025-26 All-NBA squads, and Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic earned a place on the First Team alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Victor Wembanyama and Cade Cunningham.
A global panel of 100 media members handled the voting. Doncic, Gilgeous-Alexander, Jokic and Wembanyama were widely viewed as locks after posting MVP-caliber seasons, while Cunningham claimed the final First Team spot.
For Doncic, 27, the honor marks his sixth First Team selection in just eight NBA seasons, placing him inside the league’s all-time top 20 despite his relatively young age. The former No. 3 overall pick in 2018 trails only LeBron James (13) and Kobe Bryant (11) in career First Team nods.
The Lakers star narrowly met award eligibility requirements this year. He appeared in 64 games—one shy of the 65-game minimum—but received an Extraordinary Circumstances exemption after missing two contests for the birth of his daughter.
Doncic led the NBA in scoring at 33.5 points per game while shooting 47.6% from the field and 36.6% from three-point range. He also averaged 7.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.6 steals. He collected multiple Western Conference Player of the Month awards, including March, when Los Angeles went 15-2. The Lakers finished 53-29 and secured the West’s No. 4 seed despite several injuries across the roster.
In MVP voting, Doncic placed fourth; Gilgeous-Alexander captured the award for the second consecutive season.
