Activity picked up across the league Monday as Phoenix secured one of the NBA’s most accurate three-point shooters, Detroit continued talks with a key veteran, and Chicago kept its frontcourt intact.

Suns Sign Luke Kennard

The Phoenix Suns have agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with guard Luke Kennard, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The second season includes a player option.

Kennard, 28, split last season between the Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 8.4 points while hitting a career-best 47.8% from beyond the arc. His career three-point percentage stands at 44.2%, second only to Steve Kerr among players with at least 250 made threes.

Phoenix had been in the market for perimeter shooting after trading Grayson Allen in the Miles Bridges deal, making Kennard a strategic fit for the Suns’ rotation.

Pistons, Tobias Harris Still Talking

The Detroit Pistons remain interested in bringing back forward Tobias Harris, but the 31-year-old is fielding offers from five teams after negotiations during Detroit’s exclusive window closed without an agreement, reports Sam Amick of The Athletic. Earlier reports from Marc Stein and Jake Fischer identified the San Antonio Spurs as one of the suitors.

Harris averaged 13.3 points and 5.1 rebounds last season while providing veteran leadership during Detroit’s push back to postseason contention. The Pistons hold his Early Bird rights, giving the club flexibility to match or exceed outside offers.

Bulls Re-Sign Zach Collins

The Chicago Bulls have reached a two-year, $17 million agreement with center Zach Collins, per ESPN. Collins, 26, appeared in only 10 games last season because of a fractured wrist and a sprained toe.

When available, the 6-11 big man supplied 9.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists, reinforcing Chicago’s frontcourt depth.

The signings and ongoing negotiations mark another busy stretch as teams reshape rosters ahead of the 2024-25 season.
