The 2026 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament opens Wednesday, April 15, in Portsmouth, Virginia, giving 64 college seniors a four-day window to impress NBA scouts ahead of this year’s draft.
Running through April 18, the long-standing event is a cornerstone of the pre-draft calendar; standout performances can earn prospects invitations to the NBA Draft Combine and, ultimately, draft consideration.

Pathway to the league
The tournament has recently produced NBA talent such as Toumani Camara, Craig Porter Jr., Daniss Jenkins and Kobe Sanders. Camara (2023) and Sanders (2025) were second-round draft picks.
With the league’s 2026 draft dates already set, the Portsmouth Invitational offers many of these seniors their first—and perhaps best—chance to rise on team draft boards.
