The Chicago Bulls have reached an agreement with Tiago Splitter to become the franchise’s next head coach, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Splitter, 41, spent the 2025-26 campaign as the Portland Trail Blazers’ interim coach while Chauncey Billups remained on an extended leave tied to ongoing legal issues. He had been considered a finalist to retain the job in Portland on a permanent basis.
Instead, the former NBA center will take over a Bulls team that has struggled to move beyond the first round of the playoffs. Chicago has not advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals since the 2014-15 season.
Further details on contract length, salary and the rest of Splitter’s coaching staff have not yet been disclosed.
