Luka Doncic spent part of the NBA’s playoff break in Spain, attending a Real Madrid basketball game on Thursday alongside tennis star Novak Djokovic.
Fans and Spanish television cameras captured the Dallas Mavericks guard and the 24-time Grand Slam champion sitting together near the court as Real Madrid faced its opponent in Madrid. The visit came just days before Doncic’s Mavericks open their postseason series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Doncic, who played for Real Madrid’s youth and senior teams before entering the NBA in 2018, smiled and waved to the crowd when the arena scoreboard spotlighted him. Djokovic, currently on the men’s tennis tour break, was seen chatting with the NBA All-Star during stoppages in play.
The Mavericks are scheduled to begin their best-of-seven matchup with the Lakers early next week. Doncic is averaging 34.2 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.9 assists this season.
