The NBA announced Thursday that the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers will meet in Mexico City on Nov. 7 for a regular-season contest at Arena Ciudad de México.

The matchup will mark the 35th NBA game held in Mexico since 1992 and the 16th that counts in the regular-season standings. No country outside the United States and Canada has hosted more NBA games.

“Hosting the 35th game in the country reflects the depth of the NBA’s relationship with Mexico and the role this event plays in bringing the global game closer to fans locally, throughout Latin America, and around the world,” said Raul Zarraga, senior vice president of NBA Latin America, in a statement.

Denver’s only previous appearance in Mexico was a 2006 preseason meeting with Golden State in Monterrey. Indiana will be playing south of the border for the first time, becoming the 23rd NBA franchise to appear in Mexico.

The game is scheduled during the week of the Day of the Dead celebrations, adding a local cultural backdrop to the league’s international slate. In addition to the Mexico City contest, the NBA plans to stage regular-season games next season in Paris and Manchester, England.
