Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is not expected to make an immediate decision on his future once the season ends, according to ESPN’s Anthony Slater.

Kerr, whose contract expires after this campaign, intends to step back and hold “bigger-picture” discussions before choosing his next move, Slater reported Monday. The timeline means the organization will likely head into the early offseason without clarity on whether the 58-year-old will return to the bench.

Following Wednesday’s play-in victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, Kerr sounded fully engaged in the current postseason run. “There’s a reason we have four championships,” he said, calling the win “a beautiful display of competitive will” despite an up-and-down regular season marked by injuries and aging stars.

The familiar formula resurfaced in the play-in: Stephen Curry handled late-game offense, Draymond Green organized the defense, and Kerr leaned on the core that has defined a decade of success in the Bay Area.

While those moments underscored the partnership between coach and roster, Kerr’s long-term plans remain undecided. He is expected to revisit the topic only after the Warriors’ postseason concludes.
