The Los Angeles Lakers’ six-game winning streak in the 2026 Las Vegas Summer League came to an end Saturday afternoon, falling 92-88 to the Golden State Warriors in a semifinal matchup at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Golden State, which routed Los Angeles in the California Classic opener earlier this month, advanced to Sunday’s title game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. PT on ESPN.
Back-and-forth first half
Both teams traded baskets early, with Yaxel Lendeborg scoring for the Warriors and Chris Mañon answering for the Lakers. Cameron Carr and Adou Thiero each produced transition dunks, while Arthur Kaluma beat the first-quarter buzzer to trim Golden State’s lead to 21-19.
Carr briefly exited in the second period after a hard fall on his elbow, but Zhaire Smith and AK Okereke supplied three-point plays in his absence, and Kaluma buried a three-pointer. Carr later returned to throw down a lob dunk, capping a half that featured 12 lead changes and ended tied at 42.
Lakers surge, Warriors respond
Thiero electrified the crowd in the third quarter with an alley-oop from Mañon and a three-point play as Los Angeles moved ahead by six. Golden State countered with a 7-0 run, and the Lakers carried a 66-63 edge into the fourth.
The Warriors opened the final period on an 8-0 burst before Carr stopped the run with a three-pointer. Thiero added another highlight dunk and a rare corner three, yet Golden State’s outside shooting shifted momentum.
Late turnovers seal outcome
After Kaluma drew a Flagrant 1 foul, the Lakers converted free throws to pull within one in the final minute. Consecutive turnovers by Thiero and Mañon, however, halted the rally. Mañon was fouled on a three-point attempt but hit only two of three shots, and the Warriors sank a pair of free throws before forcing a final turnover to secure the victory.
Los Angeles finished Summer League play 6-2, posting blowout wins in each Las Vegas contest except the semifinal defeat.
