LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers recorded 33 assists and placed six players in double figures on Sunday night, defeating the Miami Heat by 10 points at Crypto.com Arena. Afterward, guard Luka Doncic said the unselfish play set the tone for the team’s third consecutive win.

“We shared the ball great tonight,” Doncic said. “Honestly, we could have had 150 points if Austin [Reaves] and I hit some shots, but starting the game the way we did—defensively and by moving the ball—was the most important part.”

Doncic and Reaves each shot 9-for-22 from the field yet combined for 21 of the Lakers’ 33 assists. Despite the pair’s cold shooting, the Lakers led wire-to-wire, withstanding a second-half push from Miami before closing out the game.

Doncic noted that the entire roster felt comfortable keeping the ball moving. “It’s not just me or AR,” he said. “Everybody feels comfortable with this offense.”

The Slovenian star shrugged off the off-night from long range, pointing to the length of the season. “There are 74 or 75 games left,” he said. “You’re going to have nights like this. Forget the missed shots—we won, and that’s all that matters.”

Doncic added that he expects the offense to improve as the season progresses, particularly once LeBron James returns to the lineup.
