Los Angeles, CA — Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul stated on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he has not held any conversations with LeBron James about the forward’s plans for next season, pushing back on widespread speculation about the Los Angeles Lakers star’s future.
“Believe nothing that’s out there because I haven’t had one conversation with him,” Paul said during Tuesday’s broadcast. He added that he promised James and his family space to decide on the next step in the 41-year-old’s career, calling it “a family decision.”
Paul emphasized that no negotiations or financial discussions have taken place. “When you think about numbers that are being thrown out, what we’re asking about and all these things, that’s all false,” he noted. “We haven’t had one conversation with anybody about anything.”
While dismissing current rumors, Paul acknowledged significant league-wide interest. “There has been incoming calls from every team, with the excitement of possibly him playing for them,” he said, estimating “about 10–12” clubs have inquired.
The agent’s comments come amid reports linking James to multiple franchises, including the Golden State Warriors, should he choose to leave the Lakers. James, who completed his 23rd NBA season, remains productive and would turn 42 during the 2026-27 campaign.
Paul said he is “more than prepared for every scenario” once James is ready to discuss options, but reiterated, “There’s been no conversation. I have not had one conversation with him.”
