LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo Front New Nike Campaign Ahead of 2026 World Cup

Nike has united two of the world’s most recognizable athletes—Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo—in a new advertisement released on June 2, 2026.
The spot, set against the tagline “Define Greatness. Then Redefine It,” introduces the Nike Mind Slide, an innovative recovery sandal first unveiled earlier this year. The campaign arrives just weeks before the start of this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
Designed for post-competition recovery, the Mind Slide incorporates 22 articulated nodes embedded in a cushioned footbed. Nike says the nodes stimulate sensory points tied to relaxation and faster physical rejuvenation after strenuous activity.
Both athletes, now 41, have maintained lifetime endorsement deals with Nike and continue to perform at elite levels—James in the NBA and Ronaldo on the global soccer stage. Their longevity made them the brand’s chosen faces for a product aimed at extending athletes’ peak performance.
The commercial launches a wider marketing rollout for the Mind Slide. Nike has not yet provided a specific retail release date.
Separately, league sources have indicated that James will enter unrestricted free agency this summer. While many observers expect him to remain with the Lakers, reports suggest he wants clarity on how the franchise would allocate salary savings across the roster if he accepts a reduced contract.
