The Los Angeles Lakers will bring Villanova senior center Duke Brennan to their practice facility on Tuesday for an official pre-draft workout, according to Vince Wolfram of The College Sports Company.
The 6-foot-10, 235-pound Brennan is widely projected as a late second-round pick or an undrafted free agent. Los Angeles currently owns only the 25th overall selection in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft, but the front office is evaluating prospects across the board in case it acquires additional picks or needs to move quickly on undrafted talent.
Productive senior year
Brennan averaged 12.4 points and 10.3 rebounds while shooting 65.8 percent from the field in his final season with the Wildcats. His 14 double-doubles matched a program record, and he grabbed at least two offensive boards in every game but one, finishing the year at 4.1 offensive rebounds per contest.
Fit alongside Luka Doncic
The Lakers are looking for a high-energy interior presence to complement star guard Luka Doncic. Team evaluators view Brennan’s finishing ability around the rim and relentless work on the glass as traits that could translate at the next level.
If Brennan remains on the board in the second round, Los Angeles could explore trading for a pick. If he goes undrafted, the organization is expected to target him immediately as a potential two-way or Exhibit 10 signing.
Center market also includes Robert Williams III
Beyond the draft, the Lakers are monitoring free-agent options at center, with Portland Trail Blazers veteran Robert Williams III emerging as a possible target despite a history of injuries.
The Lakers’ draft preparations continue ahead of the June 25–26 event at Barclays Center.
