Shaquille O’Neal finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Kobe Bryant added 24 points and 11 assists. Los Angeles built a 23-point halftime lead and never looked back.
The Lakers’ bid for a perfect postseason ended in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, where Allen Iverson powered the Philadelphia 76ers to an overtime victory. Los Angeles rebounded to win the next four games and secure its second consecutive NBA championship.
