The Golden State Warriors have re-signed free agent center Charles Bassey to a one-year agreement, the club confirmed Monday evening.
Bassey, 25, joined Golden State for the final week of the 2025-26 regular season and produced 10.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks across five appearances while averaging 20.0 minutes. The 6-11 Nigerian big man had spent earlier portions of the year on 10-day hardship deals with the Grizzlies, 76ers and Celtics.
Selected 53rd overall by Philadelphia in the 2021 draft, Bassey logged 113 games with the 76ers and Spurs from 2021-25, averaging 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes. He also played 20 G League contests last season, including 17 with the Warriors’ Santa Cruz affiliate, where he posted 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 29.9 minutes while shooting 60.6% from the field and 42.6% from three.
The Warriors did not disclose financial details, though the deal is expected to be for the veteran minimum and could feature non-guaranteed or partially guaranteed terms. Bassey will provide frontcourt depth behind veterans Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford after Golden State declined to match the offer sheet Quinten Post signed with Memphis.
