The Milwaukee Bucks have brought back forward Pete Nance on a new two-year contract less than a week after waiving him.
Multiple reports from Jake Fischer of The Stein Line and Eric Nehm of The Athletic indicate the agreement is for the veteran’s minimum, carries no guarantees, and gives Milwaukee a team option for the second season. The structure differs sharply from Nance’s previous deal, which would have become fully guaranteed had the Bucks left it intact.
Nance, 25, played in 47 games for Milwaukee during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 42 percent beyond the arc. He joined the club on a two-way contract before converting to a standard NBA deal late in the season.
The move continues a notable week for the Nance family. Pete’s older brother, Larry Nance Jr., agreed Wednesday to a one-year contract with the Indiana Pacers after finishing last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Their father, Larry Nance, remains a franchise legend in Cleveland.
Milwaukee’s roster currently stands at 15 players on standard contracts, meaning an additional transaction will be necessary if the Bucks plan to keep Nance when the regular season begins. For now, the revised terms provide the flexibility to do so.
