The Boston Celtics are releasing guard Dalano Banton, according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe.
Banton’s $2.8 million contract for the 2026-27 season is non-guaranteed, meaning Boston will not absorb any salary-cap charge by cutting the five-year NBA veteran.
The 24-year-old was selected 46th overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2021 NBA Draft and has since appeared for the Raptors, Celtics, Trail Blazers and Clippers. Although he was in the league from 2021 through 2025, Banton spent most of the 2025-26 campaign in the G League with the Texas Legends, logging 44 games and averaging 24.9 points, 7.0 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 32.8 minutes. He shot 43.8 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from three-point range and 79.9 percent at the free-throw line.
The Celtics have not announced a corresponding roster move.
