The Golden State Warriors are sifting through their Summer League takeaways while finalizing plans for October’s exhibition slate.
Summer League standouts
Undrafted guard LJ Cryer, who logged 18 regular-season appearances as a rookie, averaged 14.0 points in Las Vegas on 44% shooting and hit 41.3% of his three-point attempts. He also handed out 4.0 assists per game, though scouting reports again noted his defensive limitations.
Second-round pick Lajae Jones struggled early in the California Classic but found his rhythm in Las Vegas. Former first-rounder Will Richard (2025) displayed added strength and confidence, positioning himself for a larger role entering his second NBA season. Frontcourt prospect Graham Ike was active around the rim and brought solid size, but he remains an outside candidate for a regular-season roster spot.
Thompson leaves door open
In a TikTok clip shared by NBC Sports Bay Area, Klay Thompson told a Golden State fan to “never say never” regarding a possible return to the Warriors. Thompson, now with Dallas, will become an unrestricted free agent next summer if he does not sign an extension on his three-year, $50 million contract.
Preseason schedule announced
Golden State’s Chase Center preseason opener is set for Oct. 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Warriors will then host the Sacramento Kings on Oct. 10 and the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 16, completing their home exhibition calendar.
