The Houston Rockets have upgraded forward Kevin Durant to questionable for Game 4 of their first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers, the team announced Saturday.

Durant sat out Friday’s overtime loss in Game 3 after spraining his ankle, leaving Houston in a 0-3 deficit. The best-of-seven series continues Sunday at Toyota Center, where the Rockets must win to extend their season.

Head coach Ime Udoka now faces an uncertain lineup decision. “Questionable” indicates Durant’s availability will be determined closer to tip-off, and it remains unclear how much the injury might limit his effectiveness if he does play.

Without the 14-time All-Star on Friday, Houston leaned on center Alperen Şengün and a committee approach that ultimately fell short in a 123-118 defeat. Şengün emphasized the team’s resolve afterward. “We have another game Sunday. The series is not over,” he said. “Win Sunday, then (again in Game 5 in Los Angeles), then come back here again. Nobody is giving up—that’s what we gotta do.”

The Rockets would need four consecutive victories to avoid elimination, a near-unprecedented task even with Durant in uniform. Game 5, if necessary, is scheduled for Tuesday in Los Angeles.
