The NBA has issued fines to Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Timberwolves forward Julius Randle for their roles in an on-court altercation that occurred in the closing seconds of Minnesota’s Game 4 win on Saturday.
Jokic was docked $50,000 for grabbing and shoving Wolves wing Jaden McDaniels after McDaniels completed a fast-break dunk with the outcome already decided. The league cited Jokic’s initial physical contact as the primary reason for the larger penalty.
Randle received a $35,000 fine for escalating the incident. According to the NBA, he forcefully entered the ensuing scrum and shoved Denver guard-forward Bruce Brown.
Both players were assessed technical fouls and ejected, but no suspensions were handed down, ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported.
