The Los Angeles Lakers have reached out to the New Orleans Pelicans about second-year center Yves Missi, but New Orleans has shown no interest in moving the 22-year-old, league sources told SNY.
Lakers
Multiple clubs, including Los Angeles, contacted the Pelicans to gauge Missi’s availability, sources said. Missi, a 2024-25 NBA All-Rookie Team selection, has appeared in 139 games and logged 199 blocked shots since leaving Baylor. The Pelicans have also heard inquiries on forwards Trey Murphy III and Herbert Jones, yet no indication has surfaced that they intend to trade any of their core young players.
Bulls
Fourth overall draft pick Caleb Wilson wasted little time setting bold expectations in Chicago. “I want to be the greatest of all time,” the 18-year-old forward told reporters, referencing Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. Wilson joins a rebuilding Bulls roster that also features fellow recent lottery selection Matas Buzelis and other young pieces.
Knicks
The New York Knicks reshuffled their draft night assets without making a first-round selection. According to ESPN, New York dealt the No. 25 pick, Sergio De Larrea, to the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 30 choice, Koa Peat, and two future second-round picks. Minutes later, the Knicks sent Peat to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for three second-rounders and cash considerations. The transactions leave New York stockpiling draft capital while it continues to build around a veteran core.
