Mavericks

Dallas has signed guard Jett Howard to a two-way contract after opening a roster spot by releasing forward Tyler Smith. Howard, 22, was drafted 11th overall by Orlando in 2023 but never secured a steady role with the Magic. He appeared in 55 games last season, averaging 5.5 points and shooting 37.2 percent from three-point range. The 6-foot-8 son of former NBA forward and Michigan coach Juwan Howard will now compete for minutes at the back end of the Mavericks’ roster.

Pacers

Indiana has waived second-year guard Taelon Peter, freeing one of the club’s three two-way slots. Chosen 54th overall in the 2023 draft, Peter played 38 games as a rookie and averaged 4.5 points in limited action. He also spent time with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and impressed during Summer League in Las Vegas. The Pacers are expected to fill the vacancy with guard Braden Smith, while Ethan Thompson, Kobe Brown and restricted free agent Jalen Slawson remain candidates for the organization’s other two-way openings.

International

Forward Cedi Osman will remain in Europe after securing a three-year contract with Greek club PAOK. Eurohoops reported that Panathinaikos accepted a buyout to complete the move. Osman, 31, spent seven seasons with the Cavaliers before a stint with the Spurs and the last two years with Panathinaikos, where he averaged 13.0 points and hit 37.7 percent of his three-pointers in 2023-24.
