Lakers Release Rookie Guard Peter Suder

The Los Angeles Lakers have waived rookie guard Peter Suder fewer than three weeks after signing him to a two-way contract, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported on Tuesday.
The roster move clears a two-way slot so the club can complete its previously reported agreement with forward Arthur Kaluma.
Suder, 22, went undrafted last month after earning Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors at Miami (Ohio), where he averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 54.6 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from beyond the arc. Miami finished the regular season 31-0.
The 6-foot-5 guard finalized his two-way deal with Los Angeles during the first week of July but struggled in six Summer League appearances at the California Classic and in Las Vegas, posting 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 17.5 minutes per game on .333/.222/.750 shooting.
A source told McMenamin that the organization would like Suder to join its G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers, as an affiliate player, though the undrafted free agent is expected to consider other opportunities.
With Suder waived, Los Angeles’ two-way contracts are held by Chris Manon, AK Okereke and the incoming Kaluma.
