The Washington Wizards are bringing back forward Khris Middleton on a three-year contract valued at $17.61 million, but only the first season is fully protected.
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Middleton’s 2026-27 salary of $5.59 million is fully guaranteed. The second year, worth $5.87 million in 2027-28, carries a partial guarantee of $909,000. The third and final season, covering 2028-29, is completely non-guaranteed.
The agreement arrives via a six-team sign-and-trade that also involves the Mavericks, Grizzlies, Bucks, Clippers and Pistons. As part of the transaction, veteran guard D’Angelo Russell moves from Washington to Memphis.
Middleton, 25, spent the first half of last season with the Wizards before finishing the year in Dallas. He averaged 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists across both stops.
Washington’s reshaping continues after a busy stretch that has brought in Trae Young, Anthony Davis, No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa and Deandre Ayton in addition to Middleton.
