The Utah Jazz have reached an Exhibit 10 agreement with undrafted forward Jaxon Kohler, according to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press.
The 6-foot-9 Utah native spent four seasons at Michigan State. After seeing limited action in his first two years, Kohler became a full-time starter as a junior and senior and developed into a dependable, though low-volume, perimeter threat. In his senior campaign he averaged 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds—2.9 on the offensive glass—while shooting .500 from the field, .389 from three-point range and .869 at the free-throw line.
Draft analysts placed the Spartan forward near the back end of this year’s prospect pool. He was ranked No. 91 on Jeremy Woo’s final ESPN big board and No. 89 in Sam Vecenie’s draft guide for The Athletic. Vecenie labeled Kohler an undersized post player who will likely need to shift more of his game to the perimeter at the next level.
If the Jazz waive Kohler before opening night, the Exhibit 10 clause would allow him to earn a bonus of up to $91,000 by spending at least 60 days with the Salt Lake City Stars, the organization’s G League affiliate.
