TORONTO — The Raptors have exercised point guard Jamal Shead’s team option for the 2026-27 season, securing his $2.3 million salary and keeping him under contract for at least one more year.
The 24-year-old guard has appeared in 157 of a possible 164 regular-season games over his first two NBA campaigns, averaging 6.9 points and 4.8 assists. He started four postseason contests this spring while Immanuel Quickley was sidelined, stepping into an expanded role. Shead becomes eligible to negotiate a contract extension on July 6.
Wizards
WASHINGTON — No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa will wear No. 4 as he begins his rookie season with the Wizards, the club announced. The 19-year-old forward donned the same number during his lone season at BYU, where he posted 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game and emerged as the consensus top prospect in the draft.
Dybantsa reposted the jersey reveal on social media with the message, “LETS GOOOOOO,” as Washington looks for him to become the centerpiece of its ongoing rebuild.
Nuggets
DENVER — The Nuggets have reached an Exhibit 10 agreement with undrafted wing Aaron Nkrumah, according to multiple reports. The former Tennessee State standout averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.8 steals last season, earning Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year honors.
The 6-foot-6 swingman will join Denver’s Summer League roster and training camp, where a strong performance could convert the deal into a two-way contract or a standard roster spot.
