Several NBA insiders continue to identify the Miami Heat as the leading candidate should the Milwaukee Bucks entertain trade offers for two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to recent reports from Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer and The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Eric Nehm.

Amick and Nehm wrote that numerous league executives, agents and other observers believe Antetokounmpo could ultimately land in Miami if Milwaukee decides to break up its core. The Athletic added that the Heat thought they were close to securing the 6-foot-11 forward before February’s trade deadline, but the Bucks ultimately chose not to move him.

A prospective Miami package is expected to be built around All-Star guard Tyler Herro, rookie center Kelel Ware, forward Jaime Jaquez Jr., the No. 13 pick in this month’s draft and multiple future first-rounders. Whether that combination meets Milwaukee’s asking price—described by league sources as either a blue-chip young player or a large stockpile of draft assets—remains uncertain.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics have also been mentioned as possible alternatives should the Bucks open trade discussions. Cleveland is reportedly reluctant to include Evan Mobley, a Celtics bid would likely require Jaylen Brown, and any Magic offer would center on reigning Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero.

Fischer expressed doubts about the seriousness of other rumored pursuers such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves. Fit questions also linger: pairing Antetokounmpo with Bam Adebayo would give Miami a formidable defensive front line, though spacing on offense could become an issue.

No deal is considered imminent as the league moves deeper into the offseason and the draft approaches, but Miami remains the organization most frequently linked to the biggest name potentially available on the market.
