The Memphis Grizzlies have reached agreement with No. 3 overall draft pick Cameron Boozer, finalizing his rookie-scale contract, the organization announced on social media.

Boozer, an 18-year-old, 6’9” forward, leaves Duke after a standout freshman campaign in which he averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals over 33.4 minutes in 38 games. He shot 55.6 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from three-point range and 78.9 percent at the free-throw line, earning consensus first-team All-American honors and the Associated Press National Player of the Year award.

Internationally, the Miami native won gold medals with USA Basketball at the 2023 FIBA U-16 Americas Championship and the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, claiming MVP honors at both events.

Through three Summer League appearances—two in Salt Lake City and one in Las Vegas—Boozer has posted 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest while shooting .625/.667/.875 in 26.3 minutes.

The first year of Boozer’s deal is worth a projected $11.85 million for the 2026-27 season and totals approximately $53.8 million over four seasons, with team options on the third and fourth years, in line with the NBA’s rookie-scale structure.

Memphis delayed the signing while managing a crowded offseason roster that now sits at the 21-player limit. The club has yet to finalize contracts with its other first-round pick, Karim Lopez, and early second-round selection, Richie Saunders. Lopez remains the lone unsigned first-rounder from the 2026 draft after spending the past two seasons with the New Zealand Breakers of Australia’s National Basketball League.
