The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached a one-year agreement with veteran center Thomas Bryant, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Bryant, 29, appeared in 60 games for Cleveland last season, averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds across 12.2 minutes while backing up starting center Jarrett Allen. His floor time fluctuated throughout the year, but he provided several key stretches off the bench.
The 6-foot-10 big man has suited up for six NBA teams—the Lakers, Wizards, Nuggets, Heat, Pacers and Cavaliers—since entering the league. He captured an NBA championship with Denver in 2023 and reached the NBA Finals with Indiana before signing with Cleveland last offseason.
Bryant’s return gives the Cavaliers a frontcourt piece already familiar with new head coach Kenny Atkinson’s system and the locker room dynamic. Whether he remains on the roster through the start of the regular season has yet to be determined.
Cleveland finished last season with 52 wins but was swept by the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Free agency opens officially this week, leaving the front office additional time to pursue further roster moves.
