Bulls Name Stephen Mervis Senior VP, Add Acie Law as VP of Player Personnel

The Chicago Bulls announced Monday that they have hired Stephen Mervis as senior vice president of basketball operations and Acie Law IV as vice president of player personnel.
Mervis will oversee salary-cap strategy and analytics, according to the team’s press release. He arrives after 12 seasons with the Orlando Magic, where he advanced from intern to assistant general manager. His NBA career began with the Indiana Pacers as an intern.
Law, selected 11th overall in the 2007 NBA Draft, will concentrate on the draft and scouting while participating in all player-personnel matters. The former guard spent four NBA seasons before extending his playing career in Europe. He entered scouting with the Sacramento Kings in 2018, worked four years there, then joined the Oklahoma City Thunder’s front office from 2022–25 and served last season as the Brooklyn Nets’ director of player personnel.
These are the first significant staff additions under new head of basketball operations Bryson Graham, who joined Chicago after working with the New Orleans Pelicans and spending last season in the Atlanta Hawks’ front office.
