Report: Antetokounmpo Eyes Heat, but Milwaukee Unpersuaded by Current Offer

Trade conversations surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo have intensified, yet the Milwaukee Bucks remain unconvinced by the Miami Heat’s proposal, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said on “Get Up.”

Windhorst reported that the two-time MVP is focused on landing in Miami if Milwaukee chooses to move him. Despite months of dialogue, the sides have not bridged the gap on compensation.

The Athletic recently outlined a potential Heat package built around Tyler Herro, rookie center Kelel Ware, forward Jaime Jaquez Jr., additional young players and several first-round picks. Milwaukee has not warmed to that framework, according to Windhorst.

While Miami remains Antetokounmpo’s preferred destination, multiple franchises are monitoring the situation. Windhorst identified the Boston Celtics as a lingering threat, though any viable bid would likely involve All-NBA guard Jaylen Brown—a move that could force Boston to overhaul its roster. The Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic and Portland Trail Blazers have also been mentioned in league circles as potential suitors.

With the NBA Draft fast approaching, league executives believe pressure is mounting for all parties to clarify their positions and determine whether a deal can be reached.
