MIAMI — Freshman guard Acaden Lewis has pulled out of the 2026 NBA draft and will transfer from Villanova to Miami, CBS’ Jon Rothstein reported Friday. The 6’2” left-handed point guard, who turned 20 during the season, averaged 12.2 points, 5.3 assists and 1.8 steals for the Wildcats. His 33.7% assist rate ranked second in the Big East, while he finished third in steals and sixth in turnovers.
Lewis battled shooting woes, connecting on 27.0% of his three-pointers and 58.3% of his free throws. After visiting Miami during his initial recruitment, he will now join the Hurricanes, where he is expected to pair with athletic center Somto Cyril, a noted lob threat and rim protector.
Sochan on Poland’s Preliminary List
New York Knicks forward Jeremy Sochan has been named to Poland’s 32-man preliminary roster for this summer’s FIBA World Cup qualifying window, according to Eurohoops. The group will be trimmed to 15 players by June 8. Qualifying games are scheduled for early July, overlapping with Sochan’s pending free agency.
Fournier Claims EuroLeague Final Four MVP
Veteran swingman Evan Fournier earned EuroLeague Final Four MVP honors after posting 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in Olympiacos’ championship victory over Real Madrid. Speaking afterward, the French guard thanked supporters, praised Madrid’s season and said his motivation “comes from love,” dismissing suggestions that last year’s absence from the Final Four fueled him.
Parker Poised to Coach ASVEL
Hall of Fame guard Tony Parker is expected to take over as head coach of ASVEL Villeurbanne next season on a deal worth roughly €1.2 million, Basket News reported, a figure that would make him the highest-paid coach in French League history. Parker, currently the club’s president and formerly a shareholder, is reportedly in talks to add national team boss Vincent Collet as a lead assistant or consultant. ASVEL also anticipates new investors after operating with one of EuroLeague’s smallest budgets this year.
