A boisterous crowd of New York Knicks supporters packed the street outside the San Antonio Spurs’ team hotel on June 7, chanting at the visiting team and singling out rookie star Victor “Wemby” Wembanyama with shouts of “Get ready to go golfing.”
The raucous gathering created a wall of orange-and-blue noise as Spurs players and staff moved in and out of the building. Fans jeered loudly whenever a Spurs member appeared, directing most of their taunts at the 7-foot-4 French center.
The impromptu demonstration came ahead of the next Knicks-Spurs matchup, underscoring the heightened emotions surrounding the series. No incidents or arrests were reported.
