Former Lakers GM Calls for LeBron James Statue at Crypto.com Arena

LOS ANGELES — Former Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said on April 16, 2026, that LeBron James should be honored with a statue outside Crypto.com Arena.
Kupchak, who led the team’s front office for more than a decade, told the New York Post that James’ contributions to the franchise merit the same recognition given to other Lakers greats already immortalized in bronze outside the venue.
The organization has not announced any plans to commission a new statue.
