Former NBA guard JR Smith was knocked to the pavement on Sunday, May 5, when a crowd of exuberant New York Knicks fans grew disorderly outside Madison Square Garden.
Witnesses said the scene turned chaotic as supporters packed the area following the game. In the commotion, Smith was pushed and fell, briefly disappearing beneath a surge of people before being helped to his feet.
There were no immediate reports of serious injury, and it was not clear whether police made any arrests connected to the incident.
