New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum voiced frustration with New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson after the two collided during a recent game, charging that Brunson turned the brief contact into what McCollum called a “Broadway show.”
McCollum’s complaint, reported on April 19, 2026, centered on what he felt was an exaggerated reaction by Brunson immediately following the bump. The veteran scorer said the play itself was routine but argued that Brunson’s theatrics were unnecessary.
Neither player was assessed a technical foul, and the incident did not lead to further discipline from the league. Both guards remained in the game and completed their normal minutes.
The exchange added a flash of drama to what had otherwise been a standard regular-season matchup between the Eastern and Western Conference clubs.
