Channing Frye says nothing could have derailed the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2016 championship run — not even a full-strength Golden State Warriors lineup featuring Draymond Green.

Frye, speaking about the seven-game NBA Finals that season, stated he is “confident nobody could stop” the Cavaliers, emphasizing the team would have prevailed even if Green had remained on the court for every contest.

Green missed Game 5 of that series because of a league suspension, a pivotal absence often cited when revisiting Cleveland’s historic comeback from a 3-1 deficit. Frye dismissed the notion that the Warriors would have closed out the series with Green available, repeating that the Cavaliers were simply “unbeatable” that year.

The Cavaliers captured the franchise’s first title on June 19, 2016, defeating the Warriors 93-89 in Game 7 at Oakland’s Oracle Arena.
