James Harden Hopes LeBron James Ends Career With Cavaliers

During a one-on-one interview at Fanatics Fest in New York on Friday, Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden said he would like to see LeBron James complete his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers, calling the possibility a “storybook finish.”
“I hope he comes to Cleveland. It’s a perfect storybook finish. He’s at home for his last year,” Harden told the audience.
Harden acknowledged, however, that the final choice rests entirely with the four-time NBA champion. “He’s gonna decide. He’s smart enough that I don’t think anybody’s pitch is gonna move him,” Harden said. “Wherever he decides, obviously, the team’s gonna be a lot better.”
James Weighing Options
James, 41, informed the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this month that he plans to continue his career elsewhere, making his next destination one of the league’s most closely watched storylines. According to league sources cited by Hoops Wire, the Cavaliers are widely viewed as the front-runner, while the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers also remain in contention.
Speaking Thursday, James told reporters, “I won’t hold you guys up much longer,” and added Friday that his top priority is joining a franchise that shares his championship mindset.
