Brooklyn, July 9, 2026 — Second-round draft pick Tyler Bilodeau said his main objective with the Brooklyn Nets is to show he can contribute far beyond a single specialty.
“I don’t want anyone to think I’m just a one-trick pony,” the forward explained ahead of offseason workouts. Bilodeau, selected by the Nets in the 2026 NBA Draft’s second round, added that he plans to display a complete skill set as he competes for a roster spot.
The Oregon State product emphasized that his focus includes defending multiple positions, rebounding and making the right play on offense, not merely knocking down shots. “Whatever the team needs, that’s what I’m going to bring,” he said.
Brooklyn’s coaching staff is slated to evaluate Bilodeau during the upcoming Summer League schedule, where he will receive extended minutes alongside the franchise’s other young prospects. Team officials have noted that versatility will be a key factor in determining his early role.
Bilodeau stated that earning trust from head coach Jacque Vaughn and veterans on the roster begins with consistent effort. “I’m ready to put in the work and prove I belong at this level,” he said.
