ESPN Cleveland radio host Emmett Golden said on Thursday that a previously reliable source contacted him late Wednesday night with a brief message: “Bron and Bronny back to Cleveland.”
Golden emphasized on air that he was not filing a formal report, noting only that the same individual had provided accurate information in the past. “The media business never really knows where LeBron is moving,” he said. “But the streets do. A lot of times, the streets do.”
The remark arrives as speculation intensifies around LeBron James’ next move in free agency. League chatter has frequently placed the Cleveland Cavaliers as frontrunners, though the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, and other contenders have also been mentioned.
Cleveland is coming off an appearance in the Eastern Conference finals and has All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell under a new maximum contract. The club is also widely expected to re-sign James Harden once LeBron’s decision is settled.
Any reunion would need to address the status of Bronny James, who remains under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. A trade would be required for the Cavaliers to bring father and son together in Wine and Gold.
