The Los Angeles Lakers have signed undrafted forward AK Okereke to a two-way contract, the team announced.
Okereke, 23, is listed at 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds. During the 2025-26 season, the graduate transfer appeared in 36 games (35 starts) for Vanderbilt, averaging 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 26.2 minutes while converting 40.0 percent of his three-point attempts. He helped the Commodores reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012.
The California native began his college career as a walk-on before earning All-Ivy League honors in his third season. As a junior he posted 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game on 59.5 percent shooting, leading the Ivy League and ranking 18th nationally in field-goal percentage.
Okereke will wear No. 31 for the Lakers and is part of the club’s 2026 Summer League squad. Through the first two games of the California Classic in San Francisco, he has averaged 6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 block in roughly 18 minutes.
Lakers’ two-way slots now full
Okereke’s deal completes the Lakers’ allotment of three two-way contracts. Los Angeles recently re-signed guard Chris Mañon and added fellow undrafted rookie Peter Suder to similar agreements.
Mañon, 24, spent last season with the South Bay Lakers, recording 10.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game. In 13 G League Tip-Off Tournament contests he led the league with 2.6 steals and added 1.5 blocks, earning All-Defense honors and finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Suder is coming off a senior campaign at Miami (OH) in which he averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 54.6 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from beyond the arc, accolades that earned him Mid-American Conference Player of the Year.
