The Detroit Pistons have traded center Isaiah Stewart to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for three future second-round draft picks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Detroit placed the 24-year-old on the market last week while exploring roster changes. Stewart appeared in 58 games for the 60-win Pistons this past season, averaging 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. He finished seventh in Sixth Man of the Year voting and limited opponents to 43.8 percent shooting at the rim.
Stewart is owed $15 million next season, and his contract includes a team option for the same amount in 2027-28. Detroit is expected to move forward with Jalen Duren as its starting center and expand Paul Reed’s role off the bench.
For Memphis, the acquisition adds another physical defender and rebounder to a frontcourt aiming to return to playoff contention. Stewart’s toughness and interior versatility are viewed as complements to the Grizzlies’ young core.
The Pistons continue to stockpile draft capital as they build around guard Cade Cunningham following a breakout year.
