Thunder Rule Out Jalen Williams for Game 4 Against Spurs

Oklahoma City will be without forward Jalen Williams once again, as the Thunder downgraded him to out for Game 4 of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs because of soreness in his left hamstring.

Williams missed Game 3 on Friday, when the Thunder posted a 123-108 victory to take a 2-1 lead. Oklahoma City will try to replicate that result tonight in San Antonio and head home with a 3-1 advantage.

The Thunder are already short one rotation piece. On Saturday, the team announced that breakout guard Ajay Mitchell will remain sidelined by a right soleus strain. Mitchell had started most of the contests Williams sat earlier in the postseason, leaving head coach Mark Daigneault in search of additional scoring.

Cason Wallace will move into the starting lineup in Williams’ place, according to Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman. Throughout the series, veterans Alex Caruso and Jared McCain have taken on larger offensive roles, production that becomes even more critical with two key contributors unavailable.
