New York — Knicks forward OG Anunoby said Thursday he expects to be available for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, adding that he is “getting better each day.”
The 26-year-old has been working toward a comeback ahead of the best-of-seven series, which opens Monday. While the club has yet to issue its official injury report, Anunoby’s comments indicate he is nearing full clearance.
The Knicks acquired Anunoby in a mid-season trade with Toronto. He averaged 14.4 points and 4.9 rebounds in 23 regular-season games with New York before being sidelined late in the second round.
Tip-off for Game 1 is set for 8 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden.
