NEW YORK — Guard Landry Shamet has signed a new contract with the New York Knicks, a deal both sides say is grounded in their shared Christian faith.

The agreement, reached on June 30, 2026, extends Shamet’s stay at Madison Square Garden after his mid-season arrival last year. Financial terms and contract length were not disclosed.

Team officials and the 29-year-old player pointed to Bible study sessions and prayer meetings that began soon after his trade to New York as the foundation of their bond. Those gatherings reportedly included teammates, coaches and front-office staff.

Shamet averaged 9.3 points in 21.4 minutes per game with the Knicks after being acquired at the February trade deadline. He is expected to provide perimeter shooting and backcourt depth behind starters Jalen Brunson and Quentin Grimes.

The Knicks open summer league play next week in Las Vegas, where Shamet is slated to work out with the team’s young core before training camp in September.
