Steve Kerr Agrees to Two-Year Deal to Remain Warriors Head Coach

Steve Kerr will continue to lead the Golden State Warriors after reaching a new two-year agreement, according to his agents Dan Eveloff and Rick Smith of Priority Sports. The deal was first reported on May 9, 2026 by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but Charania reported that Kerr is expected to remain the highest-paid head coach in the NBA.

Kerr, 60, has coached Golden State since 2014, guiding the franchise to multiple championships during his tenure. The new contract extends his time on the Warriors’ bench through the 2027-28 season.
