Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus has outlined a blockbuster trade concept that would move Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Golden State Warriors.
Under the proposal, Golden State would send Jimmy Butler, rookie guard Brandin Podziemski and four future first-round draft picks to Milwaukee. The aim, Pincus wrote, is to pair Antetokounmpo with Stephen Curry in a bid to extend the Warriors’ championship window.
The scenario hinges on Antetokounmpo’s contract situation. Milwaukee would reportedly consider a deal only if the two-time MVP indicates he will not sign an extension with the Bucks. Should that happen, the proposed package gives the Bucks an All-Star in Butler, a young prospect in Podziemski and significant draft capital.
Questions remain about the offer’s appeal. Butler is recovering from a major knee injury, Podziemski is viewed as a promising but limited piece, and four first-round selections may not equal the value of a player widely regarded as one of the NBA’s top three talents.
The idea is strictly theoretical at this stage; no negotiations between the teams have been reported.
