OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams left Wednesday’s Game 2 of the Western Conference first-round series against the Phoenix Suns after an apparent left hamstring injury.
The incident occurred with 6:26 remaining in the third quarter at Paycom Center. Williams grabbed the back of his left leg after missing a contested fast-break layup, then appeared to say, “Left hammy.” Two possessions later he committed an intentional foul, signaled to the bench and went directly to the locker room for evaluation.
The 25-year-old had been delivering a strong postseason following an injury-plagued regular season in which he played just 33 games. He opened the series with 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the Thunder’s Game 1 rout, and had 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting with four assists in 23 minutes before departing Game 2.
Williams, a third-team All-NBA pick last season, played the 2024-25 playoffs with a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, postponing surgery until after Oklahoma City’s championship run. The procedure sidelined him for the first 19 games this season, and recurring strains in his right hamstring cost him additional time, including a setback during a 28-point performance on Feb. 11 against Phoenix.
No immediate update on Williams’ status was provided.
